ESENTEPE FUN, RUN AND RAMBLE 2015

Car Treasure Hunt

We have received information from Sue Steel of the Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble 2015 regarding the Car Treaure Hunt, which was a great success for the start of the events associated with theTulips logo english Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble 2015 in aid of Help Those with Cancer Association (Tulips).

The Car Treasure Hunt in aid of Help Those With Cancer (Tulips) took place on Sunday, 4th January and raised an impressive 2,050TL for the charity.

l-r Nick Hill, Jamie Jackson, Ryan Watts part of Team Boy WanderersEighteen cars with a total of 72 participants took part in the event which started and finished at Stevie’s bar and restaurant in Küçük Erenköy and covered an area of 28kms. Drivers drew for pole positions and after a staggered start, the route took them out towards Tatlisu and the surrounding area.

As well as solving clues in order to move on to the next destination, participants had to decipher anagrams in order to collect five items l-r Winning team captain, Stuart Mitchell and Brian Hillswhich included a rose petal and a party hat.

Three teams scored full marks and after a local knowledge tie-breaker, the eventual winners were Team 4 Play, who also won in 2014. The winning team were presented with a bottle of Champagne (donated by  Stevie’s) the annual Treasure Hunt winners’ plaque and a team plaque.

A total of 62 diners took advantage of the specially prepared Sunday lunch which was followed by a drivers’ quiz and aEnjoying the meal and raffle fantastic raffle. Mr Stockwell donated 10% of the meal price to the charity, along with the proceeds of the tea and coffee before the start of the event.

Art Watson, Chairman of the Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble 2015 committee said, “This has been a great event, well attended and so much fun.  People brought along prizes for the raffle and gave generously not only of their time but their money to make this a super day.  This was the second car treasure hunt organised by Brian Hills and we hope it will now become an annual New Year event.

Our thanks are extended to Brian Hills for the detailed organisation, Stevie and Linda Stockwell and staff for the great meal, the generous people who donated raffle prizes and of course all those who took part and made the day a success.”
