GAU 30th Year Project
A “Lineage Tracking” documentary will be presented to the press and the public at the Arabahmet Culture House on Thursday 12th June 2014
Girne American University (GAU) is presenting to the press the “Lineage Tracking” documentary, which is the 30th year project of GAU and focuses on the past to the present of Cyprus.
The statement from GAU indicates that another project has been completed with the GAU Cultural Heritage Management vision, and the “Lineage Tracking” documentary will be presented to the press and public at the Arabahmet Culture and Art House. It is emphasized that the precious Ottoman monuments in Cyprus were recorded as part of GAU’s 30th anniversary memories project and that they intend to transfer Cyprus’s cultural heritage from the past into the future.
Income from the documentary DVDs will be donated to the Cyprus Children’s Foundation
It has been stated that the income from documentary DVDs, which emerged as a result of the importance given to cultural heritage by Girne American University in its 30th year, will be donated to the Cyprus Children’s Foundation.
The project director and screenwriter – Ferhat Atik commented on the issue that the “Lineage Tracking” documentary which travels through the history of Cyprus, is ready for presentation as a project that will remind us of the values that make us who we are today, and stated that they immortalized many values with the Cultural Heritage Management of GAU. Atik stated that with the project that was organized for the 30th anniversary of Girne American University in higher education, they recorded many Ottoman monuments in Cyprus, and the income of the documentary DVDs will be donated to the Cyprus Children’s Foundation.
It is stated that the “Lineage Tracking” documentary, which focuses on events and venues that have left their mark in history, is organized with the co-production of Girne American University and Prequel Productions, and the project which was directed and written by Ferhat Atik, will be presented to the press with a launch which will be held at Nicosia Arabahmet Culture House on Thursday 12th June at 11:00am. The event will also be open to the public.
