According to a questionnaire Greek Cypriots still approve their refusal of Annan Plan
It has been indicated that the Greek Cypriots still approve their refusal of the Annan Plan after 10 years.
Greek Cypriot Fileleftheros newspaper has published a short questionnaire related to the Annan Plan referendum and the Cyprus problem.
According to the questionnaire 60% of those who participated still approve the refusal of the Annan Plan however 40% believes that the plan was unfortunately refused. The newspaper also published that as an answer to the question about the latest developments in the Cyprus problem 40% said that the situation is almost the same, 36% said it is worse and 24% said the situation is good.
Finally the newspaper wrote that one third (19%) of the Greek Cypriots said that the best solution is two separate states while 16% preferred the status quo and said that they don’t want to live with the Turkish Cypriots. However the newspaper stressed that 57% of the Greek Cypriots support a bi-zonal, bi-communal federal solution and very few (8%) preferred a confederation.
Feltman will meet President Eroğlu today
UN Under-Secretary General for Political Affairs – Jeffrey Feltman will meet President Derviş Eroğlu today. Feltman will also meet the Greek Cypriot Administration leader – Nikos Anastasiades today.
Feltman will also meet with the Turkish Cypriot negotiator – Kudret Özersay and the Greek Cypriot negotiator – Andreas Mavroyannis during his 3-day visit.
