EROĞLU AND ANASTASIADES TO MEET ON 31 MARCH
President Derviş Eroğlu and Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades are going to meet on 31 March within the framework of the Cyprus negotiations.
In his statement following a meeting with Greek Cypriot negotiator Andreas Mavroyannis, Turkish Cypriot negotiator Kudret Özersay said that the leaders’ next meeting was decided to be held on 31 March 2014.
Moreover, it was stated that during yesterday’s meeting (11th March 2014) of the negotiators, which continued for nearly three hours, the issue of federal executive power was discussed.
Stating that as the Turkish Cypriot side, he explained our views in a detailed way, Özersay added that he suggested some concrete proposals during the meeting.
NAMI MET SMART AND BOBROW
The Minister of Foreign Affairs – Özdil Nami who is holding a series of high level contacts in the US met with Christopher S
mart, the Special Assistant to the President of the United States Barack Obama and the Director for Turkish, Greek and Cyprus Affairs at National Security Council – Christina Bobrow yesterday.
During the meeting, Nami evaluated the issues discussed during the negotiation process and expressed that if the US continues to support the solution of the Cyprus problem, it will be very helpful for the negotiation process in Cyprus.
Moreover, expressing that the meeting has a great importance in terms of US’s high level interest for the negotiation process in Cyprus, Mr. Nami said that all issues were discussed during the meeting which took place in a positive atmosphere.
