SLOVAKIAN AMBASSADOR TO SOUTH CYPRUS PAID A VISIT TO EROĞLU
The Slovakian Ambassador to South Cyprus, Oksana Tomova, paid a visit to TRNC President Derviş Eroğlu.
No statement was issued regarding the meeting which was held at the Presidential Palace on Monday 18th November 2013.
TRNC PRIME MINISTER YORGANCIOĞLU SENT A CONDOLENCE MESSAGE TO KETI CLERIDES
The leader of the Republican Turkish Party-United Forces (CTP/BG) and Prime Minister – Özkan Yorgancıoğlu sent a condolence message to Clerides’s daughter, Keti Clerides due to the death of her father, the former Greek Cypriot leader Glafkos Clerides.
Expressing his sorrow in his message due to the death of her father and the leader of Greek Cypriot people, Yorgancıoğlu stated his condolences to Keti Clerides and the Greek Cypriot people.
STANO: ‘SOLUTION IS URGENT’
A spokesperson of Stefan Füle, Member of the EC in charge of Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, said that he would not confirm the claims regarding the Varosha proposals published in the Greek Cypriot press: ‘Stefan Fule and President of the EU Commission – Jose Manuel Barroso, lean towards adding the opening of Ercan Airport to international flights to the package’.
In his written reply to Kıbrıs newspaper, Stano noted that the European Commission has taken positive steps in order to facilitate the daily lives of both people in the island and encourage them to create a positive atmosphere. Moreover, Stano added that the European Commission called both sides to encourage their people to make concessions and stressed the urgency of a comprehensive solution in the island.
CTP/BG PARTICIPATED IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF SPD
Republican Turkish Party – United Forces (CTP-BG) participated in the General Assembly of Germany’s Social Democrat Party which celebrated its 150th anniversary in Leipzig during 13th to 15th November.
According to the statement made by CTP/BG Press Office, Guzelyurt CTP-BG Deputy and Member of Foreign Relations Office – Armagan Candan, represented CTP/BG in the General Assembly of SPD.
Moreover, it was stated that the Republican Turkish Party, which is a member of Socialist International and European Socialists Party, also participated in the World Progressive Movement as a founding member within this year. CTP/BG invited ‘ brother parties’ which they contacted in international areas to CTP/BG’s General Assembly to be held on 8th December.
