Doğanköy Church Coffee Morning

It was a lovely sunny Sunday morning on the 20th October, and the recent 
windy weather had reduced to a slight breeze, so it was a pleasure to go along to the coffee morning which had been arranged at Doğanköy Church to raise funds for its upkeep.
There was a nice crowd of people, about 40 in all, sitting outside the church in the sun and enjoying tea or coffee and cake from the lovely selection on offer. There were many familiar faces and also a lot of people I hadn’t met before, so it was a nice chance to have a chat with new people and also some of the people I did know.
I have since been told that the amount raised was 350TL, so that is a very nice amount to add to the funds to keep this beautiful old church in good condition.
Many thanks to Paula and Incilay for all their hard work in organising this lovely coffee morning and their on-going efforts for the preservation of the church for future generations.
There is another date for the diary and that is Wednesday 18th December wh
en there will be a pre-Christmas lunch at Al Shaheen in Karakum at 1pm. So why not go along and enjoy a starter of soup and a nice Turkey dinner followed by tea/coffee and a liqueur. The tickets are 35TL per person and again this will be to support the upkeep of Doğanköy Church.
