GAU INTER-CULTURAL PEACE
SUMMER SCHOOL HAS ENDED
OVER 300 INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS WHO HAD JOINED THE GAU INTERNATIONAL INTERCULTURAL PEACE SUMMER SCHOOL HAVE RETURNED TO THEIR COUNTRIES AS HONORARY CULTURAL ENVOYS
As well as intensive lessons of English, computer, science nature experiments, talent fashion shows, ceramics, dance, fencing and swimming lessons at GAU American College Girne Campus, the guest students have had a chance to see the TRNC’s natural beauty and historical richness by the co-ordinated culture trips. They have also taken the opportunity to join in the festivals of specific various regions throughout the island and have had the opportunity to get to know the Turkish Cypriot Culture and cuisine.
Director of the American College International Summer Schools, Celal Sakka, has stated that over 300 students from various countries such as Palestine, Lebanon, Libya, Persia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Belarus had joined the International Summer Schools and also expressed that traditionally co-ordinated international summer schools contribute to the country’s promotion.
“They Have Returned To Their Countries as Honorary Cultural Envoys”
Sakka has stated that during the GAU International Summer Schools, as well as intensive theoretical education, the summer school had ended with various cultural, artistic and sporting activities. Sakka has also stated that the foreign students had returned to their countries as Cyprus Honorary Cultural Envoys. Sakka emphasized the significance of GAU International Summer Schools at the point of recognition of the TRNC and also underlined that the children of the world will take place at the crucial tasks of getting to know the TRNC better, they will return to their countries as TRNC Honorary Envoys. He had also stated that GAU International Summer Schools will continue to produce projects for next summer to present different aims, contribute to the country’s promotion and carry the student development to the top level with the intercultural dialogues.
