MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT ARE TO START DUTY AFTER TAKING AN OATH TODAY

50 members of parliament who are entitled to take a seat at the TRNC Assembly following the Early General Elections held on 28^th July, will take office after taking an oath today.

The first session of the assembly after the elections will take place at 10.00am today. Besides the former MPs, the oath taking ceremony will be open to the public.

In the election held on 28^th July, 21 MPs from the Republican Turkish Party – United Forces (CTP-BG), 14 from the National Unity Party (UBP), 12 from the Democrat Party-National Forces (DP-UG) and 3 from the Communal Democracy Party (TDP) were elected.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS SYMPOSIUM AT GAU

The ‘1^st International Symposium on Engineering, Artificial Intelligence & Applications’ organized by Girne American University Engineering Faculty will be hosting international scientists.

The symposium will take place at Girne American University (GAU) Cyprus Kyrenia Campus between 6^th and 8^th of November 2013.

ISRAEL, GREECE, CYPRUS SIGN MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ON ENERGY AND WATER

Greek Cypriot Administration has continued to sign another unilateral international agreement. Yesterday a memorandum of understanding which covers energy and water issues was signed by the authorized ministers of Greece, Israel and Cyprus in South Nicosia.

According to the Greek Cypriot Newspaper Politis, the memorandum envisages to support the studies to unite Israel, South Cyprus and Greece by 2 thousand megawatt electric cables.
