FIRST INTERNATIONAL CARDIO-METABOLIC SYNDROME EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN CONGRESS WILL BE HELD IN TRNC
The first International Cardio-metabolic Syndrome Eastern Mediterranean Congress will be held in the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), North Cyprus between the 27thFebruary- and 2nd March 2014.
The promotion meeting of the congress which will be organized jointly by EMU, Turkish Diabetes Foundation, and Cyprus Geriatrics Foundation will be held at Salamis Bay Conti Resort Hotel between 14:00-17:00 on Saturday 6th July.
The Dean of EMU Faculty of Health Science and President of the Congress, Prof. Dr. Hulya Harutoglu, stated that cardio-metabolic risk factors, the problems that cause these factors and different disciplines regarding the cardio-metabolic risk factors, will be discussed during the 4 day long congress in 2014 by valuable, selected national and international scientists.
NEU FOUNDING RECTOR GÜNSEL ATTENDS SWISS SUMMIT OF LEADERS
A delegation under the presidency of Dr. Suat Günsel, the Founding Rector of Near East University (NEU), has attended “Swiss Summit of Leaders” held in Monteux, Switzerland.
Dr. Suat Günsel was granted the “2013 Socrates Award and NEU was awarded “Best University Award in Golden Category” in the Summit. Irfan Suat Günsel made an evaluation and said “In fact, the awards are given to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus” and added that the awards given in international meetings held in important countries are significant in terms of the awareness of the country.
According to the information obtained from NEU, Chairman of Board of Trustees of the Near East University Ass. Prof. Dr. Irfan, Suat Günsel and member of the Board of Directors of NEU, Ahmet Savaşan, organized a press conference in Monteux together with Turkish Consul General to Zurich, Aslı Oral, and TRNC Acting Representative to Geneva, Fatma Arşehit.
Günsel emphasized that they received the awards given to NEU on behalf of the TRNC and they presented the awards to the people of the TRNC.
Ahmet Savaşan, Aslı Oral and Fatma Arşehit made speeches in the press conference and they emphasized that the awards are proud for the TRNC.
