by Ralph Kratzer
The 6th Lapta Tourism Festival 2013 is approaching its climax.
From 20th to 23rd of June a lot of events take place in Lapta.

For the folklore program of the festival guests had been invited from all over the world.
These are groups from Turkey, the Czech Republic, Mexico, Togo (West Africa) and Bavaria (Germany).
For a formal reception of the invited guests and to inform the press the Municipality of Lapta, under its Mayor Fuat Namsoy, arranged a dinner at the Hill Top Restaurant yesterday, 19 June 2013.
As hosts of the evening I saw, besides the Mayor Fuat Namsoy and his lovely wife, other Managers of the Municipality of Lapta, including Berke Ertopagloglu, Hasan Keles, Kemal Hüray and Mustafa Aktug.
The guests, young people from all over the world, were warmly welcomed and felt clearly happy with their hosts from the beginning.
Among the representatives of the press I saw teams from BRT Bayrak Radio and TV, ADA TV, the website Cyprusscene.com and others.
After a short speech by Mr. Namsoy, hosts and guests exchanged gifts and the group from Togo took the opportunity for a brief music and dance performance, which challenged the Mexicans in turn to deliver a small sample of their skills!
It promised to become a fun night ……
And indeed, after an excellent dinner and the first drinks, it was again the friends from Mexico, who animated the guests of the evening to a spontaneous dance party with their upbeat music!
Music and dance samples of all the invited folklore groups foreshadowed what will be on offer next weekend in Lapta!
What a beautiful event! Young people from all over the world coming together in North Cyprus, celebrating together and bringing their different cultures together!
Congratulations to Fuat Namsoy, the Mayor of Lapta, and of course his entire team for the outstanding event of the 6th Lapta Tourism Festival 2013!
