2nd Turkish Cypriot Cultural Festival Held in Stockholm

The Turkish Cypriot community gathered in Stockholm for the 2nd Cultural Festival, celebrating heritage with music, dance, food, and shared traditions that brought people together.

The 2nd Turkish Cypriot Cultural Festival, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), was held in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.

Hosted by TRNC Stockholm Representative Hakan Aksoy, the festival brought together Türkiye’s Ambassador to Stockholm, Korhan Karakoç, Press Counsellor Ahmet Emre Çetin, Culture Counsellor Sibel Bağlı Biçer, representatives of Turkish and Swedish institutions, and numerous guests.

Speaking at the opening of the festival, Aksoy expressed his delight at bringing the spirit of the Mediterranean to the heart of Scandinavia and highlighted the deep-rooted history of Turkish Cypriot culture.

The cultural program featured performances by Turkish Cypriot violinist Mustafa Fegan and soprano Burcu Kuru, alongside a traditional folk dance performance by the Turkish Cypriot Folk Dance Group. Guests also had the opportunity to visit a photography exhibition highlighting the history of the TRNC.
