Traditional Martial Arts at Paston Farm Community Centre
Discover the art of self-discipline and physical fitness at Paston Farm Community Centre’s Traditional Martial Arts sessions. Led by highly experienced instructors Allan Jones (9th Dan) and Norman Willerton (4th Dan), these Thursday evening classes provide a welcoming environment for all abilities to develop strength, agility, and confidence.
Participants benefit from a varied and engaging programme that includes rigorous body conditioning, technical groundwork with blinding masks to heighten awareness and hone defensive skills, and one-on-one free sparring (Randori), allowing students to practise throws, holds, and escape techniques in a safe yet challenging setting.
Demonstrations by the instructors offer a captivating insight into martial arts, showcasing refined techniques without resistance from an opponent. Whether you are a seasoned martial artist or a complete beginner, these sessions promise an enjoyable route to improved fitness, discipline, and lasting friendships.
Sessions take place every Thursday from 18:00 to 19:30 in the hall behind the Café. For further details, contact Allan on 07752 583858 or Norman on 07947 908157.
Traditional judo is also being taught in Davids Lane, Werrington, next to the Crab and Winkle pub on Tuesdays from 5.00 pm to 6.30 pm, and we will take time out in the weeks ahead to visit there and tell you more.
