Hasipoğlu meets TÜRKPA Secretary General Ramil Hasan in Baku
The Minister of Labour and Social Security, Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, is in Azerbaijan to attend the inaugural Meeting of the Ministers of Labour, Employment, and Social Protection of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS).
According to information provided by the Ministry, Hasipoğlu held his first meeting yesterday 4th December with TÜRKPA Secretary General Ramil Hasan. During the meeting, Hasipoğlu recalled that Hasan’s visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) as part of a TÜRKPA delegation on 20 November 2025, stating, ‘I have no doubt that the contacts between TÜRKPA and the TRNC, led by Mr. Ramil Hasan, as well as the meetings held with the Speaker of Parliament and the government, will enable the TRNC to expand its international relations network.’
TRNC-Azerbaijan Friendship Group
Hasipoğlu emphasized the importance of the Azerbaijani National Assembly’s decision to establish a TRNC-Azerbaijan Friendship Group, describing it as “a historic step taken under the official name of our state. We hope that similar decisions will be adopted by the parliaments of other Turkic states.’
TRNC’s strategic importance in the Turkic world.
Pointing out that TÜRKPA represents an important step towards the TRNC’s official membership of the OTS, Hasipoğlu underlined the TRNC’s strategic importance in the Turkic world.
He also expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for their support in the struggle for international recognition of the TRNC, stressed that the TRNC is the ‘border guard’ of the Turkic world in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Hasipoğlu concluded by stating, “The integration of the TRNC into the Turkic world will reach even higher levels through representation and cooperation in the parliamentary environment.”
