Our traditional annual Bavarian Oktoberfest was again an event highlight of the year! On our Facebook group, there was a lot of praise from participants and many more pictures and videos…

Report from our Events Manager Pamela Tschersich:

“TFR members once again partied the night away to another OKTOBERFEST…all common sense left at home… blisters on toes … not bad considering I abandoned my shoes quite early on… king size headache … didn’t expect anything else !!

Special thanks to Horst & his helpers who came in in the morning to decorate the beach bar and to Jacqui Rendell who helped me do the table decs.

The food was, as usual, superb, as was the bar service… thank you Deniz Kizi for the usual high standard.

Our entertainment was excellent, capturing the mood completely … thank you, James Smile …

On our Czech Republic tour I asked Ralph if he could yodel… well yodel he did… so my thanks to Ralph Kratzer for entertaining us with the interesting story of his leather hosen childhood and also the history of yodelling … it wasn’t just a pretty tune… as Ralph explained it was a way of communication with various yodelling responses… it made a lot of sense on the ways to communicate over far distances (from mountain to mountain) before the invention of the mobile phone. Of course, we had to do a yodelling competition after our story and found some willing participants… we waited until we thought everyone was oiled enough ?????? Martin Turner won it, but it was close !!!”
