Prime Minister Ünal Üstel visited Teknecik Power Plant
Prime Minister Üstel, together with Deputy Prime Minister Fikri Ataoğlu and Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı, visited Teknecik Power Plant and met with KIB-TEK manager Dalman Aydın, Chairman of the Board of Directors Gürsel Uzun and the technical team.
Prime Minister Üstel made a speech here and noted that the incident at the Güneşköy Substation deeply saddened everyone, and said that all teams were mobilized to investigate the causes of the incident.
Explaining that they had convened the Council of Ministers in an extraordinary session in this direction and received the necessary information from the relevant team, Prime Minister Üstel noted that they had issued a circular to the General Director of Police for a detailed investigation.
Drawing attention to the seriousness of what happened, Üstel said that the issue will be investigated with an expert team from Turkey in the light of the reports to be prepared.
The explosion should never have happened
“It wasn’t an explosion to be underestimated. And it was an explosion that shouldn’t have happened. Along with the explosion, there was also a malfunction in the production centre. Our engineers at the production centre worked hard to fix the fault quickly. I want to thank them.”
Üstel noted that they came together with the coalition partners and the KIB-TEK management and technical team in Teknecik in order to plan the measures to be taken to prevent these problems in the next period and to calculate and plan the developments in the country.
Calling for Turkey to TRNC Electric Cable
Stating that they will contact the Republic of Turkey and evaluate the stage of the work to bring electricity from Turkey by cable, Üstel said that it is time to determine a roadmap.
Üstel stated that the important thing is to quickly eliminate the problems in energy and accelerate the work for the country to have a more modern energy.
