Türkiye reiterates its red Lines in Aegean and Eastern Med

Turkish Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler has firmly declared that Türkiye will not tolerate any attempts to undermine its legitimate rights and interests in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean.

Minister Yaşar Güler issued a strong statement reaffirming Türkiye’s position against any unilateral actions by Greece in these regions.

Greece’s Aegean Sea activities

Regarding a written parliamentary question concerning Greece’s recent activities in the Aegean Sea and its potential move to extend territorial waters to 12 nautical miles, Güler underscored that “no fait accompli violating Türkiye’s rights, interests, and concerns in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean will be allowed.”

He highlighted that all illegal actions by Greece that violate Türkiye’s internationally recognized rights are being closely monitored by the Ministry of National Defence, and swift responses are delivered as necessary.

Moreover, Güler stressed that Türkiye’s stance is consistently asserted both in the field and through diplomatic channels. He added that the Foreign Ministry is regularly kept informed to facilitate appropriate diplomatic measures in response to Greece’s actions.
