FM Bayramov: “TRNC can be assured of Azerbaijan’s support”

Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, expressed that they have very warm and close brotherly relations with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

Foreign Minister Bayramov responded to questions from an Anadolu Agency (AA) correspondent during the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum held at the NEST Convention Centre in Belek, where AA is the “Global Communication Partner.”

Pointing out that President Ersin Tatar has visited Azerbaijan and that there is an inter-parliamentary friendship group, Bayramov also reminded that the TRNC has the status of an observer member in the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

Concluding his speech, Foreign Minister Bayramov emphasized:

“We will continue to support the TRNC’s activities with the framework of the OTS. If we look at the issue from a broader perspective, it is important to solve the issue based on equal rights for the TRNC and the Greek Cypriot side.

The rights of both communities should be ensured fairly. Historical, spiritual, and international legal factors must all be taken into account. Only in this way can a solution be found. Our brother and sisters in the TRNC can always be assured of Azerbaijan’s support on this issue.”
