TRNC and Azerbaijan to cooperate in Local Governance
A protocol was signed between the Cyprus Turkish Municipalities Union and the National Association of City Municipalities of Azerbaijan to cooperate in various fields of local governance.
A signing ceremony was attended by Interior Minister Dursun Oğuz, as well as mayors from both Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Under the protocol, signed by Mahmut Özçınar, President of the Cyprus Turkish Municipalities Union and Mayor of Güzelyurt, and Tamraz Taghiyev, Chairman of the National Association of City Municipalities of Azerbaijan and Mayor of Narimanov, it is envisaged that effective and systematic consultation and information exchange will be established and maintained between the local governments of both countries, coordinated by the Union of Turkish World Municipalities.
