Important Decisions From Traffic And Transport Services Commission
The TRNC Traffic and Transport Services Commission convened yesterday Thursday 19th September 2024 under the chairmanship of Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı and signed a series of important decisions.
At the meeting, which was held with the agenda of discussing the status of the Değirmenlik-Çatalköy (Kyrenia mountain road) Road and discussing the new vehicle plates, it was decided to use a new generation smart taximeter in taxis and public transportation vehicles.
At the meeting, it was also decided to start urgent works for the arrangement and construction of the Değirmenlik-Çatalköy Road by increasing the existing road to 8 meters, and to prohibit heavy goods vehicles traveling on the road not to use the right lane and thus to pass vehicles.
In addition, at the meeting, it was decided to set an age limit for buses in student transportation and to hold the necessary consultations with the Ministry of National Education on this issue.
On the other hand, it was decided to hold a meeting again on September 26, 2024 (Thursday) to inform the members of the Commission about the work done on the preparation of the Transportation Master Plan for public transportation.
