Girne Mayor Murat Şenkul
Girne Mayor, Murat Şenkul made a statement regarding the two separate fire disasters that occurred in recent days. He reported that “Last week, the fires in Gürdağ, and yesterday’s fires in the Işıl Advertisement facilities have caused both material and emotional damage to our valuable local companies.”
Şenkul emphasized his hope that the businesses would soon return to conditions where they can resume production.
Şenkul pointed out the importance of thoroughly investigating the causes of the fires and discussing what needs to be done together to prevent similar disasters, saying, “On behalf of Girne Municipality and myself, we extend our condolences to both of our businesses.”
