The 96th anniversary of the establishment of Republic of Turkey has been celebrated with ceremonies in the TRNC.
On the occasion of 29 October Republic Day, a ceremony was held in Lefkoşa in front of Atatürk Monument where wreaths were laid.
President Mustafa Akıncı, Speaker of the Assembly Teberrüken Uluçay, Prime Minister Ersin Tatar, Turkish Ambassador to Lefkoşa Ali Murat Başçeri, 2nd President Mehmet Ali Talat, CTP Leader Tufan Erhürman, ministers, political party leaders, deputies, mayors, military authorities, veterans associations, students and citizens attended the ceremony.
