Kasım Aktaş, who was diagnosed with the first West Nile Virus in the TRNC and had been treated at the Lefkosa State Hospital since 18th July 2019, died at 20:30 yesterday (21st August). Kasim Aktas, a 69-year-old woman from Topcukoy, had severe secondary illnesses in addition to the diagnosis of West Nile Virus.

Currently, two patients are being treated at Lefkosa State Hospital with the diagnosis of West Nile Virus and four patients are waiting for blood test results.

The Ministry of Health continues its fight against larvae and larvae control intensively throughout the country.
