Izmir Declaration was published at the end of the 8th General Assembly of TÜRKPA
Izmir Declaration was published at the end of the 8th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TÜRKPA) in Izmir. The Speaker of the TRNC Assembly Teberrüken Uluçay and his delegation were also present at the meeting.
According to a written statement made by the TRNC Assembly, the importance of reaching a solution based on the principle of political equality and partnership of the two peoples on the island was stressed.
In addition, it was declared that TÜRKPA strongly supported the demands of Turkish Cypriots for a future of peace, security and welfare.
Following the General Assembly of TÜRKPA held in İzmir, Turkey has become the next term president.
