A third lane and a checkpoint at the Metehan Border Gate was opened on Monday (17.09.2018) to vehicle and pedestrian crossing after a two week planning and implementation period.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister Kudret Özersay, Minister of Public Works and Transportation Tolga Atakan and the Director of the Police General Directorate Süleyman Manavoğlu inspected the works being done before the lane was opened.
The new lane will help ease the congestion at the crossing.

This is indeed a Big step foreward to ease the the long delays in returning to the TRNC and a most Welcome situation where the two powers can work together when Necessary. Now lets see the Greek border officials do likewise.
