Speaker of the Assembly Teberrüken Uluçay said that a solution to be reached on the island will contribute to the solution of problems in the region.

Stating that solution of Cyprus problem should not only be considered in terms of policy, Uluçay said that reaching a solution will benefit both the Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots economically.

Uluçay received the foreign parliamentarians who arrived in the TRNC on the occasion of 20th July Peace and Freedom Day. During the reception held at the Assembly’s VIP lounge, the Senator of Canada, Anne Cools, gave a short speech on behalf of the parliamentarians from Kosovo, Madagascar, Hungary, Canada, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Mauritania and Chad.

In her speech, Cools expressed that she has been a Senator in Canada for 35 years and she is very pleased for being in this beautiful country on such an important day. Cools wished the Cyprus problem to be solved as soon as possible
