The customs duty imposed on goods sent to Greek Cypriots and Maronites living in the TRNC by the Greek Cypriot administration has been removed.

In accordance with the TRNC Council of Ministers’ decision dated 13 April 2018, supplies, which are provided by the Greek Cypriot administration and delivered by the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) to Greek Cypriots and Maronites residing in the TRNC, are exempt from customs duty. This is under the presumption that these commodities are for personal use only.

Under no circumstances can these supplies transported to the TRNC, be sold or used for any commercial activity. In such a case, both the vendor and the purchaser will be penalized according to the TRNC’s relevant laws and regulations.
