Prime Minister Tufan Erhürman and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Kudret Özersay travelled to Ankara last night upon the official invitation of Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım. Erhürman and  Özersay will meet with Yıldırım today.

Making a press statement at Ercan Airport, Erhürman and Özersay answered questions related to their Ankara visit. Prime Minister Erhürman stated that “Good relations with Ankara is of vital importance.”

Erhürman stated that, as well as meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Yıldırım, they will meet with Turkish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State in Charge of Cyprus Affairs Recep Akdağ, and other officials in Ankara.

Erhürman and Özersay are expected to return to the island tonight.
