Gale force winds reaching as strong as 100kmph can be expected in the TRNC over the coming days, the met office has announced.
Extremely unsettled weather patterns, mainly strong winds, are expected as of today Thursday 18th January as a low-pressure system is affecting the region.
Winds will be Southerly to Westerly today, changing to Northerly and Westerly tomorrow.
The met office has warned the public to be careful over the next few days as rain and storms are expected for the entire island.
The Lefkoşa Municipality has also issued a warning to the public particularly regarding power lines, lamp posts and trees. The municipality has urged the public to avoid parking their cars under trees or structures which might break or topple as a result of the strong winds.
