Last Thursday 14th December Katie Economidou called to invite me to join in her concert that would be held at Karaman Church on Sunday, 17th December. I thought “Wow! This will be a Katie – Peri concert!”
Even though I was in the middle of my exams, I could never miss the opportunity to be on stage with wonderful opera singer and amazing personality Katie Economidou, so I immediately said “Yessss!”. Then I found out that superb pianist and soloist Zara Barkhoudarian would be accompanying us. I should be blessed!
The concert was at 17:00pm and the event was for the benefit of Karaman Church. Even though I hardly had any rehearsal before the concert with Zara, she was amazing playing my songs; in fact she is the best accompanist I’ve ever had. I can’t thank her enough. And when it comes to Katie, it was a pleasure to sing in her company with her extraordinary calm and positive manner. I owe her millions of thanks.
We had a full house with an enthusiastic audience that made our concert even more exciting and unforgettable.
Zara not only accompanied the songs with her piano but she also sang with her wonderful voice, sometimes solo sometimes together with Katie (and me). Each one of us performed individually and together. There were times when the audience joined in the songs. The theme of the concert was Christmas, therefore the songs were mainly Christmas songs such as, Silent Night, Ave Maria, O Holy Night, Rudolf The Red Nosed Reindeer, Christmas Tree, White Christmas etc.

And there was one “Happy Birthday” song as well! The 17th December was my dear Grandfather’s birthday and I was so lucky to find a chance to celebrate his birthday from the stage together with these two wonderful artists and I dedicated a song to him.
We finished the concert with standing ovations and therefore we did an encore. I want to thank everyone especially my friends who came and supported us. I think it was a night to remember for everyone.
