The Regional Training Workshop on Export Strategies for Primo-Exporters among OIC member states will be held at the Lord’s Palace Hotel in Girne today.

The Workshop, which will run until 7 December, is jointly organised by the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), a subsidiary of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Casablanca, and the TRNC Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which attends all meetings as an OIC observer member.

During the opening ceremony, Economy and Energy Minister, Sunat Atun, and Head of the Islamic Trade Development Centre and Department of Labour and Education, Mamoudou Sall, delivered speeches. Experts from the Economy and Energy Ministry and the TRNC Central Bank will also give presentations at the workshop, which will be attended by representatives from the TRNC State Planning Organization, the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce and the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry.

Eastern Mediterranean University wins bronze medal at the AEHT Gastronomy competition

This week, students from the Eastern Mediterranean University’s (EMU) Faculty of Tourism, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts received a bronze medal for their participation in the European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools (AEHT) gastronomy competition.

The competition took place in Ostend, Belgium and is one of the most prestigious competitions in the field of culinary arts. EMU students came in third place, winning a bronze medal, in the patisserie category at the competition which over 50 students from 25 countries participated overall.
