Work on the pavement, kerb painting and expanding road asphalting to the north side of the road starting from the Kervansaray Region to the village centre on Karaoğlanoğlu Caddesi has been completed.
Girne Mayor, Nidai Güngördü, inspected the work covering a length of about 200 meters. The cost of the pavement work was around 298,000TL.
Nidai Güngördü made a statement about the project, especially in the city where the number of students and tourists are constantly increasing, and after contact with the villagers, they paid attention to the need for pavement improvements. Nidai Güngördü pointed out that the pavement provided security for the pedestrians and stated that the problems experienced by drivers in the region would be solved following the work.
Güngördü stated that the pavement work to the north of the road from the Kervansaray area to the centre of the village was completed and that new work would be started towards the city centre in the coming days. The work has been completed in the Karaoğlanoğlu region, Zeytinlik and Karaoğlanoğlu Caddesi, and the work between Edremit and Karmi is about to be completed.
Güngördü also added that the pavement work was carried out at Ecevit Street in Ozanköy and Selvili Street in Doğanköy.
