To mark the 8th September “World Literacy Day”, we the Mağusa Kale Lions Club and Mağusa Mesaray Lions visited the young children attending the Petit Baby Montessori School for a Storytelling Hour.
We were welcomed with great big smiles by the children aged between 3 and 5 years old and our story telling began. While we read three short stories we encouraged the children to make the noises of the animals mentioned in each book as well as asking questions about the fruits that were pictured on the pages. Reading to the young was an excellent way to engage with their growing knowledge and imagination and to serve our main mission to encourage reading.
After our fun Storytelling hour we treated each child with colouring story books as well as fresh juice and cakes.
