The Ministry of Tourism and Environment and Kuzey Kibris Turkcell have initiated a joint project to improve and restore the environment of North Cyprus and a presentation was made to introduce the project of planting seedlings.
Ismet Yazıcı, the General Manager of Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell, who spoke at the presentation, stated that green Cyprus had been spoiled by unfortunate occurrences and other reasons and stated that e-seedlings would bring Cyprus back to green again, step by step.
Kuzey Kibris Turkcell recognised that an initiative was needed for people, who wish to bring the colour green back to North Cyprus, to be able to make donations via the internet and reminded that in the New Year 2017 they donated saplings as Kuzey Kibris Turkcell.
Tourism and Environment Minister Fikri Ataoğlu also said that the country has taken an important step to ensure that the destroyed areas are being made even better than they were previously. He emphasised that everyone who wants to have a tree planted, for a 5TL contribution this will be transferred to the Forestry Department by Turkcell and a tree will be planted in the name of the people.
Ataoğlu stated that the tourists who come to the country would also be pleased and able to plant a tree, and he said that the tourists would come back to the country to check on how their trees were growing in the future.
The first donation was made by Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu. Those who wish to plant a tree can donate 5TL by entering www.kktcfidan.com page.
