Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu is in London for an official visit

Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu travelled to London yesterday to hold official meetings.

Within the framework of his visit, Minister Ertuğruloğlu will visit the Turkish Embassy in London and meet with the British Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations.

Ertuğruloğlu will also address the UK Parliament’s TRNC Friendship Group.

6th INTERPA conference in the TRNC

The 6th International Association of Police Academies Conference (INTERPA), hosted by the Police School Directorate, is taking place in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. 70 members from 24 different countries are participating in the conference.

The 6th INTERPA Conference, entitled “Drug Problem and New Approaches in Police Training for Struggling with Drugs”, will last 3 days during which the research – which has been conducted in 9 different countries – will be evaluated in 5 separate working sessions.

The Greek Cypriot Administration tried to obstruct the conference via assorted diplomatic initiatives without success. Unfortunately, the Greek Cypriot Administration did not allow the Director of the Guatemalan Police, who had arrived at Larnaca to transit to the TRNC.

Cyprus Universities Association to become a member of the European Association of Institutions in Higher Education

The Cyprus Universities Association (CUA) has been accepted into the European Association of Institutions in Higher Education (EURASHE).

Serhat Akpınar, Founding Rector and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Girne American University, stated that the Cyprus Universities Association was established by Cyprus International University, Mediterranean Karpaz University, British University of Nicosia, American University of Cyprus, Cyprus Metropolitan University and Girne American University.

Akpınar also said that the CUA has been invited to the 27th Annual Conference of the EURASHE, which will take place in La Havre (France).
