Thoughts for the week
Family – In my experience it’s difficult to define the literal meaning of the word Family. My mum was without doubt one of life’s remarkable human beings who held our family together. After her death our family was never the same. I was always the Blacksheep. Told to get a proper job and stop messing about with bands and music. What is a proper job?
The band were my family and throughout my career in music I have met some of the best, most honest, interesting people I know. People with depth. Not shallow people hiding behind their facade. Whether musicians, producers, or the people who have supported me and enjoyed coming to my gigs, I see them all as my family. I have been helped more in my life by people who I’ve met through supporting my gigs than I’ve ever been helped by my blood relatives.
I owe my life to two very dear supporters of mine and to my very special friends back in the UK. More recently to people I’ve met here in TRNC, who I’ve only known a short time but have helped me out of a very difficult situation and who again support my gigs. I am truly grateful to each and every one of them and they know who they are and I would always be there to offer my hand if they needed help. My immediate family are my two girls and my husband, who have always supported me in my music career.
I have made some of the best friends I know through music and I class them all as my family, we just don’t happen to share the same blood.
Family is the most important thing in life. they are the only people who will, through thick and thin, be there for you, for as long as they are able, they try to guide you and bring you up the best way they know how.
Quite often you may not agree with them, (especially in those teenage years). but they are doing their best for you.
You have to make time for them and some of us forget that, because one day they may be no longer be around.
Family – I have two families….I have my parents and my sister over in the UK, and over here in North Cyprus I have my son, and my brother who will be coming out for a while in November.
My other family is a select few who I am very close to and who I met whilst living in North Cyprus. As the years roll by they have become a support network for me, helping me if and when I need them, and although I love my UK family very much, these select friends have very much become my second family and, at times, I really don’t think I could survive here without them…
I am always overwhelmed by their love and support for me, and I’m sure they will always be there, as I am for them…xxx
Family – Like most people I think I have the best family in the world!
I am lucky to still have both my parents and they are here with me. My brother who is always there if I need to talk and as for my wife, I could not ask for better or so she tells me Lol.
Then comes my daughter who gives me the strength to keep me going when things get tough. I must not forget my Egyptian in- laws who welcomed me into the family with open arms.
I really am blessed with my family and my life.
Family – Due to busy lives and distance I do not see my family as much as I should. Most of them live in the UK whilst my wife and I spend our time between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Turkey.
I try to get to the UK at least once a year but as anyone knows in the entertainment industry this is difficult especially in the Summer season, but the bond between us is very strong and they are never far from my thoughts.
I am very grateful for the support they gave us when Teresa and I were first reunited and a special thanks goes to my Father who showed us great kindness.
People come in and out of our lives on a regular basis but family are always there, cherish them they are not around forever and neither are you!
As a thank you to all of those fans, we present on behalf of the
