Property Rental Tax
The Government are trialling a three [3] month increase in the Pro
perty Tax for renting properties here in the TRNC.
The rate will rise from 10% to 13% with immediate effect. The tax must be paid in the currency shown on the rental agreement. If the rental agreement is in Sterling, the Government wins hands down on both counts i.e. 3% increase and the exchange rate of the £ into Lira.
Vehicle Road Tax
With effect from September this year, the Government have increased the vehicle Excise duty by 6%, making it even more expensive than before. This will make some local vehicle owners avoid paying road tax altogether. Oh to be an expat and pay all taxes due!!
Burglaries
I know that I keep “thumping this particular drum“ to the point of frustration, but last month I needed to process another 3 claims for break in’s.
