The Main Event with Denise Phillips
Jarra Brown is back with “46 Miles”
By Denise Phillips……
I was delighted to welcome back Jarra Brown MBE to The Main Event studio following his breathtaking tour in the UK to promote his book “46 Miles”.
As many of our Main Event followers will remember Jarra, a former Army Commando soldier, joined the police in 1990, serving 22 years and retired in March 2012 and when he came to visit me previously it turned out to be a very emotional and extended interview during which he told us how he was the instrumental link between the Police and the military over the repatriations through Wootton Bassett and was awarded the MBE in the 2011 New Year’s Honours List.
The book, “46 Miles”, is a about a town which captured the hearts of the UK nation and whose emotions rippled the entire 46 mile journey of honour, dignity and respect into Oxford. It is dedicated to those 345 people who, having signed up to serve their Queen and country, paid with their lives. Wootton Bassett, who nurtured the grieving on every occasion, wanted to let the nation know that these heroes will never be forgotten.
Do click here to read the article that Jarra wrote on cyprusscene to promote his book that has had over a 1,000 readings and now he will tell us all about his visit to the UK to promote his book.
Join me and Jarra on The Main Event on Bayrak International Live on Saturday 19th September at 15.00 pm when he will tell us more of this event and you can also hear some of his favourite songs by following the links below.
