As part of our series of lectures of well-known persons in public life of Northern Cyprus Dr Sibel Siber will speak to members of the TFR on Friday, 13th March, 3.00pm, in the Acmenya Restaurant in Alsancak. We ask for good attendance, questions are very welcome!
Short info about the lecturer:
Sibel Siber (born 1960) is a Turkish Cypriot politician. Dr Siber studied medicine at Istanbul University, where she graduated in 1983. She was the first woman Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, having been in office from 13 June 2013 (after the government of İrsen Küçük fell because several parliamentarians switched party) until 2 September 2013.
As of September 2013, Dr Siber was the Speaker of Parliament, the Republican Assembly of Northern Cyprus. At the moment she is a candidate for the presidential elections in April 2015.
Will DR Sibel be speaking in English or through an interpreter?
Is the meeting open to Non Members?
As far as I am informed her speech will be in English. Normally these events are organized for TFR-members, but guests like you are always welcome, David.
