Raising money for TULIPS
(Help Those with Cancer Association)
By Sue Steel
The Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble 2015, in conjunction with Telsim (Vodafone), have once again permitted the use of 4171 to raise money for the EFRaR 2015.
The Telsim number, 4171 allows people to send a blank text, which will cost them TL5. The money goes directly to Help Those with Cancer Association (Tulips) but for the period 2nd February to 5th April 2015 the amount raised during this time will be attributed to the Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble 2015 and will be passed on to Tulips, along with the rest of the monies raised.
In 2014 this initiative raised over 800 TL for the Fun Run total and Art Watson, Chairman of the EFRaR 2015 committee said: “5TL is a small sum of money when one considers the cost of cancer treatments and I am confident that we will raise much more than last year. The 4171 initiative is available to Telsim and Turkcell contract subscribers so I urge everyone to send a blank text to 4171 and donate TL5”.
The following banks also accept donations to “Cancer Patients Aid Association” from pre-paid subscribers: Asbank, Creditwest, Iktisatbank, Koopbank, Cyprus Turkish Teachers Bank, Limasol Turkish Cooperative Bank, Sekerbank, Turkish Bank, Business Bank of Turkey, Foundations Bank, Universal Bank and the Near East Bank.
Rasim Karas, Chief Executive Officer, Telsim (Vodafone) commented: “At Telsim we are very sensitive regarding the health problems that threaten the lives of human beings. We always support the events which create awareness about the health problems on our beautiful island.
Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble is an important event which raises a remarkable amount of money for Help Those with Cancer Association (Tulips) to help those who suffer from cancer. We, as the Telsim family, are very happy and excited to be a part of this social responsibility event. We appreciate the efforts of the Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble Committee and we invite everyone to support this beautiful event.”
