In the early days of we were delighted to have received a number of articles for publication from Tony Woods and one of them was “Dirty Business” a Kyrenia Amateur Dramatic Society (KADS) radio show that was produced in the BRT studios and for those that would like to read about it please click here

We are pleased to have received news that after a year’s break, since recording ‘Dirty Business’ by Derek Webb in the BRT radio studio, Kyrenia Amateur Dramatic Society will soon be producing its radio play for 2014.

Tony Woods, the Director has selected ‘Post Mortem’ by Chris de Vere Hunt as the script. It is a light comedy play set in Tony Woodsthe late summer of 1929 in the village of Hampton Combe in West Somerset, England where preparations for the Annual Village Show are due to be overshadowed by a gruesome discovery in Her Ladyship’s newly dug broccoli bed. The thirteen characters are:

The Announcer, Angela, Millie, Sir Mortimer Banks-Sweetley, Beech [the gardener], Dibs [the under-gardener], Gladys [the maid], Rufus ffanthorpe Sheringham Banks-Sweetley [Sir Mortimer’s son], Golightly [the butler], Mrs Pugsley [the cook], Miles [the chauffeur], Lady Hermione Banks-Sweetley and Inspector Strangeways from Scotland Yard. It may be that some actors will be able to ‘double up’ and play two parts.

A read through is to be held to select the cast at Tony Woods’ home – 37 Çamlidere Sok, Alsancak – at 8.00pm on Thursday 3rd July when all who wish to be involved are invited to turn up. AKADS on the RADIO map to Tony Woods home is available by contacting Tony on .

After cast selection and rehearsals, the plan is to record it, with producer Can Gazi, in the BRT radio studio at 11.00am on Friday 8th August. There will be two transmissions of the play after editing but at dates and times to suit BRT, both to be announced in the press. A copy of the recording will be lodged online click here  where all the previous KADS/BRT radio plays can also be heard.
