News from Tulips

By Margaret Sheard

Prior to Christmas we wrote about the swimmers who were to brave the cold waters of the Mediterranean on Christmas morning to raise funds for Help Those with Cancer Association (Tulips) and we have now received infoSome of Christmas Day Swimmersrmation from Carole King and Sue Tilt about the results of this event.

The final total for the Christmas Day Swim in aid of Tulips was an enormous 3,350TL which was a magnificent achievement from the swimmers and their supporters. Some of the swimmers were able to attend the presentation at the O’Live Bar and receive their certificates of thanks from Tulips for their bravery in swimming in such cold waters.

Thanks are given to everyone who took part and also to The Food Lodge for sponsoring the Mulled Wine which no doubt helped raise the total.Sarah Massey sml

Carole and Sue have also supplied a photo of Sarah Massey who had joined the Card Making Workshops and decided that she would continue to make Christmas Cards for Tulips at home and handed over the proceeds which came to a fantastic 280TL. Well done Sarah.

Christmas and the New Year are now over and done with but the never-ending work goes on to raise funds for Tulips so let’s hope 2014 sees the continuation of the fundraising efforts of dedicated people like Carole and Sue and their supporters.
