11th May – Saturday	BRS Blood Donor Day. 10am to 1pm at The Black Olive Cafe, Alsancak. 3 months must elapse between donations. There will be food on sale so you can enjoy a bacon or sausage sandwich or eggs on toast, all with tea or coffee at 10TLThe Foreign Nationals will clean your car while you are giving blood, 10TL per car includes free tea or coffee. All proceeds will be for funds to pay for their stage lighting for their 8th June Jasmine Court concert in aid of Tulips.
11th May – Saturday	There will be an art exhibition by The Hermitage Art Group at The Black Olive Cafe/Studio from 10am to 1pm For more information contact Vicki on 0533 835 5133 or email theblackolivecafe@gmail.com
12th May – Sunday	Cycle Tour. Meet at 9am at Akcan Cycle Shop in Alsancak. Bicycle hire is 20TL. The tour will be in the Hisarkoy area. To enter registration must be made by Friday 10th May. 14th May – Tuesday	The NCCCT Coffee Morning will be at The Dome Hotel, Girne. Make a note to go along to this very popular event.
14th May – Tuesday	The Black Olive Cafe/Studio will be holding a first aid course based on living in Cyprus. This will include basics of how to recognise problems and how to deal with minor injuries. The course is 50TL which includes lunch and a drink. There are not many places left so if you would like to attend please contact Vicki on 0533 835 5133 or email theblackolivecafe@gmail.com
15th May – Wednesday	Carole & Sue have organised their 2nd card making day in aid of Tulips and this will be held at the Ozankoy Bookshop from 10am to 4pm. If you are experienced or would like to learn why not go along and join with others to have a nice few hours and produce some lovely cards to be sold to raise funds for Tulips.A buffet lunch will be available at 15TL, to book for this contact Barbara Burton on 0542 865 7916.For any further information contact 0533 873 1693
17th May – Friday	There will be a flat green bowls knockout competition at The Olive Press in Lapta. Entry is free and it will be 10TL per person for those taking part. 17th May – Friday	Friends of the TRNC Emergency Services will be holding an event at the Mountain View Hotel, starting at 7.30pm when John Hughes-Wilson will be giving a talk about the Death of President Kennedy, it will be the 50th anniversary this year. 17th May – Friday	The Black Olive Cafe/Studio will be having an “Exchange Night” starting at 7pm. Bring along a minimum of 3 items to exchange (clothes, accessories, household items etc.) and while having a meal in the garden everything will be arranged in the studio. Names will be put into a hat and 5 names will then be drawn and the lucky people will have five minutes to choose the same number of items they contributed to the exchange from the items on display. 20th May – Monday	NCCCT Bingo Night at The Ravine in Alsancak starting at 8pm. There is a rollover jackpot of 1,200TL. A book of 6 cards @ 35TL. Free raffle and the famous Mars bars for the winners. Pre-order a nice supper of Fish & Chips for 15TL when you arrive to be served at half-time. A good evening’s entertainment.
21st May – Tuesday	NCCCT are hosting a lunch and mini fashion show at Le Jardin in Ҫatalkoy, 12.30 for 1pm. Tickets are 30TL per person and can be obtained from the Heartbeat Shop or The Hut in Girne. There is a choice of menu – Chicken & Mushroom in a brandy cream sauce, Steak Pie or a vegetarian option, the choice of dessert is Meringue Nest or Apple Crumble. There will be clothes for sale as well.
24th May – Friday	Friends of the TRNC Emergency Services will be putting on a Tamla Motown night with DJ Mike and DJ Max at the Mountain View Hotel, Karaoğlanoğlu starting at 7.30pm. There will also be one of the Mountain View’s excellent buffets to enjoy. The event will be ticket only which are 25TL per person and can be obtained from Pam Schofield at The Bamboo Market on Saturday mornings, the Olive Press in Lapta or contact Mike on 0533 8305374 or Jenny on 0533 876 1483
25th May – Saturday	The Black Olive Cafe/Studio will be having a Curry and Cobra night with Barry Snakes playing in the garden, Doors open at 6.30pm. If you want to eat it is best to book a table so please contact Vicki on 0533 835 5133 or email theblackolivecafe@gmail.com
27th May – Monday	Friends of the TRNC Emergency Services will be holding their monthly Quiz Night at The Ravine in Alsancak. 7pm for a 7.30pm start. 15TL includes a meal of Fish & Chips or Chicken Shish, which can be chosen on the night. For more information contact Jenny on 0533 876 1483
27th May – Monday	There will be a Cabaret Night at Wok Around the Clock Restaurant, Bamboo Beach in aid of Tulips. Entertainment by Al August Jnr and Ivan the Saxophonist, plus other acts. The evening will start at 8pm and is by tickets only which are 25TL (to include a 3-course meal) and are available from Al at Bamboo Beach, the Tulips Stall at Lambousa Saturday Market and Best Seller Bookshops in Karakum and Alsancak. 31st May – Friday	The Black Olive Cafe/Studio will be having a Fun Quiz Night starting at 7pm. This will be held outside for the first time this year. 15TL to include supper. To book please contact Vicki on 0533 835 5133 or email theblackolivecafe@gmail.com

8th June – Saturday	The Foreign Nationals (Barry Snakes protégés) will be performing at Jasmine Court from 8.30pm to 11.30pm. Entry will be 15TL per person and there will also be food available for those who want to eat. The event will be in aid of Help Those with Cancer Association (Tulips). This should be a brilliant evening.
11th June – Tuesday	The NCCCT Coffee Morning will be at The Lodge in Ҫatalköy. Make a note to go along to this very popular event.
12th June – Wednesday	Kibris Night at the Hill Top Restaurant, Lapta/Baspinar which starts at 8pm. There will be a menu of 20 cold mezze and 5 hot mezze and a Mixed Kebab for 40TL per person. As well as all of this good food there is entertainment with live music, folk dancing, children’s violin performance and tap dancing. 12th June – Wednesday	Friends of the TRNC Emergency Services will be holding their Afternoon Tea Talk at the Mountain View Hotel at 3pm when the speaker will be Dorothy Betts who will be talking about Shadows of the Empire, her book about the Old British Cemetery in Kyrenia and some of the people buried there. 21st June – Friday	Friends of the TRNC Emergency Services have arranged an 60’s Night at The Mountain View Hotel starting at 7.30pm. There will be a “Blues Brothers” act which will be coming up from the South and there will also be Steam Machine with Werner. 6th July – Saturday	The Children in Need Foundation have arranged a brilliant 2-hour concert to be held at the Girne Amphitheatre featuring Legend, Bob Marley & The Wailers Tribute Band.
