Quiz Night

h Legion, Kyrenia Branch, held their first Quiz Night of the year at the Deniz Kizi Hotel on Monday 14th January. This was also a first time for Janet Marsh, the new Events Secretary, who had never organised a quiz before but it seems the event was a huge success and there were 80 people who attended to enjoy the night.
Being unable to go to this event, I am very grateful to Janet who has sent me a note of how the evening went, together with some photos and this
is what she has said.
“This was the first time I had put together a quiz and I am pleased to say that our next one will be done by the more experienced quiz master, Pete Letherbridge. 80 people attended the event at the Deniz Kizi Hotel in Alsancak making up 16 teams. The quiz was divided into two halves with a break for a meal of either chicken curry or burger and chips, with a follow on game of knockout cards.
The quiz winners were “The Scrambled Eggs” who received 200TL, though they donated 50TL back to the RBL, and the card game was won by Patti-Foch-Gatrell who received 125TL.
The event raised 375TL for the RBL.
Our next quiz (5TL each plus 10TL for food option) will be in February on either the 11th or 18th (to be confirmed) again at the Deniz Kizi and people can book at the Saturday market stall at Chateau Lambousa or by calling 0533 859 2451 or email events@rblkyrenia.com “
It looks like a good time was had by all and, as I do like a quiz to keep the old brain active, I will try to make the next Quiz Night and join in the fun.
