Darts Competition at The Ravine, Alsancak

Those Golden Girls, Sue and Carole have been hard at work again supporting Help those With Cancer Associations – Tulips and they have asked us to share their latest news with our readers.

“Hello Chris, I mentioned to you that there was to be a Darts Competition on 21.10.2012 at the Ravine Bar & Restaurant, Alsancak which had been organised by Ayse Esma and Barbara Willbye. We would like to thank the organisers and wondered if you wanted to put something on your site..

There were 21 entrants who all paid 10TL each and half of the money was donated to Tulips and the other used as prizes for the winner of the men’s and women’s competition. The poor weather was definitely a factor in the low turnout however considering the amount of entrants, Barbara, Ayse and myself were shocked at how well we did, it meant that everyone there was very generous.

The Ravine very kindly donated 5TL per meal sold on the night

The raffle raised 390TL plus we had an auction for a 3rd party car insurance donated by Steve Dickinson in which a further 101TL was raised with Andy Dietrich claiming the insurance.

The ladies winner was Ayse Esma and the men’s winner was John Swayne who both donated their winnings to Tulips!

We would like to say a HUGE thank you to Ayse Esma and Barbara Willbye for organising the event, the Ravine Bar and Restaurant for the use of their premises plus their donations, all the contestants who battled the weather to participate and bought raffle tickets and the sponsors who provided the prizes.

A total sum of 731 TL was raised on the night.
