F-16 Fighter Jets On Standby In The TRNC

Statement regarding F-16s deployed to TRNC

The Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Türkiye has issued a statement regarding the deployment of F-16s and Air Defence Systems to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The statement reads as follows:

“As part of the phased approach to enhancing the security of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in light of recent developments in our region, six F-16 fighter aircraft and air defence systems have been deployed to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as of today.

Additional measures will continue to be taken based on further developments, if deemed necessary.”
