Pasha Group Kyrenia Half Marathon 2025 Press Conference

The sixth annual Pasha Group Kyrenia Half Marathon, organised in collaboration with Kyrenia Municipality and the TRNC Athletics Federation and sponsored principally by Pasha Group, will be held on Sunday, November 2nd, in Kordonboyu, Kyrenia. A press conference regarding the event was convened at the Kyrenia Pasha Hotel on Tuesday, October 7th.

Speeches were delivered by Kyrenia Mayor Murat Şenkul, TRNC Athletics Federation President Ferhat Sakallı, and Pasha Group CEO Eser Vural Vuranok. Kyrenia Municipality Sports Coordinator Seran Kaşif provided technical details about the marathon. The meeting, attended by sponsors, lasted approximately one hour and was followed by lunch. The 2025 event features races in the following categories: a 1 km children’s run (ages 6-12), a 3 km public run, a 10 km run, and a 21 km half marathon. This year’s proceeds will support the fire department through the acquisition of vehicles. A total prize pool of 435,000 TL will be distributed across general classifications and age group categories.

Online Registration Opens

Kyrenia Municipality has announced that registration for the inaugural 1 km children’s run is free and may be completed via http://www.girnemaratonu.com. Registration for the 3 km public run (200 TL) can be completed at the Kyrenia Municipality New Service Building, the Social Life Center, various neighborhood offices, mobile registration teams, and at the starting point until the race begins. Registration for the 10 km (1,250 TL) and 21 km (1,750 TL) events must be completed online by October 31st. Athlete Kits Distributed via Puma Stores

For the first time, Puma athlete kits will be provided to participants in the 10 km and 21 km events. These kits, including a Puma t-shirt, bag, hat, wristband, and socks, are available for collection in person (with valid ID) at all Puma stores between October 15th and November 1st.

Mayor Şenkul: “We Run to Support the Fire Department with Vehicles”

Mayor Murat Şenkul expressed gratitude to all sponsors, especially Pasha Group, for their contributions to the marathon’s sixth edition. He underscored the philanthropic purpose of this year’s event—supporting the fire department with vehicles—and highlighted the marathon as a valuable social responsibility initiative and an opportunity for community engagement. Mayor Şenkul also noted that the Turkish Desserts Festival would be held concurrently at the same venue, inviting the public to participate both in the marathon and the festival.

President Sakallı: “We Appreciate All Institutions Allocating Resources Where Needed”

TRNC Athletics Federation President Ferhat Sakallı confirmed the Federation’s readiness for the event and emphasised the value of collaborative efforts with municipalities, particularly regarding social responsibility projects. Sakallı thanked all organisations for directing resources where they are most needed and provided additional details on the event’s categories and course. He concluded by acknowledging the support received from various contributors.

CEO Vuranok: “Events Like This Promote Health and Well-Being”

Pasha Group CEO Eser Vural Vuranok reaffirmed the Group’s ongoing commitment to supporting Kyrenia Municipality initiatives and explained the company’s motivation for continuing as title sponsor. Vuranok highlighted the importance of such events in promoting a sports culture and fostering healthy individuals for future generations.
