The Fifth Iskele Christmas Day swim raised over 2,100TL which was given to the local representative of Tulips – Help Those with Cancer Association..
140 people gathered to enjoy the atmosphere of Christmas music, food and drinks, all supplied by the Belediyesi, and 28 hardy souls got themselves extremely wet!
Organiser Chrissie Bara was thrilled at the turnout. “I am so pleased we have made over 2,000TL for the first time, and it was lovely to see so many people enjoy the start of their Christmas Day. It’s also gratifying that this event is now so well established, and we all look forward to raising even more next year!”
Chrissie also had a very early start with a live appearance on BRT television’s breakfast programme, during which the Mayor of Iskele, Hasan Sadikoglu, praised the ex-pat community. “They warm our hearts with such a meaningful event, and we know they will continue to contribute towards the benefit of our country.”
