The first round of the TRNC domestic cup competition saw most of the Super League teams safely through to the next round. Super League teams are automatically drawn against League 1 teams, so it is heavily in favour of the Premier Clubs. Quite a number of League 1 Clubs were on the end of some frightful hammerings as you can see from the results below .
Being the Cup there were some shocks and upsets. In the Lefkoşa “derby” Gençlik Güçü were beaten 2-3 at home by their League 1 neighbours Hamitköy. Famagusta based team Dumlupinar “dumped” out Yeni Boğaziçi away 3-2, in the other shock.
