TRNC Cricket Club held its first
Annual Dinner
On Sunday 11th January the TRNC Cricket Club held its first Annual Dinner at Jashan’s Indian Restaurant in Karaoğlanoğlu when 19 people attended, being a mixture of the team and enthusiastic supporters.
Club founder Nigel Holman reviewed an amazing first year for the club and its future plans for 2015 including new leagues, an international against South Cyprus and obtaining a second artificial pitch . Communications Manager Ian Fell delightedly reported that the Club had a world ranking in sports website providers Pitchero.com‘s table of 40th and added if every club member and friend clicked on the site this week, 1st place was very possible.
An additional 1,320TL was raised at the dinner for the Peshawar school children’s memorial fund bringing the total to 6,170TL. Captain Danish Afridi said the special atmosphere created by British, Turkish Cypriot and Pakistani communities caring for a common cause had been one of the best moments of his 10 years in North Cyprus.
