North Cyprus Film needs you!

 

If you have a passion for films and filming, this is an opportunity you cannot afford to miss.

NORTH  CYPRUS FILM, in conjunction with the Government, Commercial and Trade Organisations and a number of entrepreneurial individuals and companies, are embarking on a project designed to establish the TRNC as a significant location for filming and film-makers.

Significant progress has been made over the past two years but assistance is now required to push this project forward.  The aim is to create a Film Commission  for North Cyprus, in order to attract the funding required for a strong marketing campaign and to set up the infrastructure for an island-based film industry.

Currently this is a voluntary position, hence the use of the word “passion” in our headline although eventually there is every possibility of payments being made for the work undertaken.  It is also a part-time role with flexible hours to suit the individual and the requirements of this diverse and interesting job.

Perhaps you are looking for a new and stimulating hobby which will provide excitement and a sense of achievement and maybe lead on to a financially rewarding past-time.  If so, please read on …

Although no experience of the film industry is required, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Be Fluent in Turkish and English, both spoken and written.
• Be Computer literate. Experience in Microsoft “Publishing” and/or “Wordpress” would be an advantage.
• Have an outgoing personality with the confident ability to communicate at all levels.
• Be capable of vocally translating from English to Turkish and vice versa at small meetings involving ‘high-level’ personnel.
• Have administrative experience. A working knowledge of sales or marketing would be an added bonus.
• Be enthusiastic about films and filming.
• Hold a current driving license and preferably have your own car.
• Preferably live in the Girne / Kyrenia area.

This is your opportunity to become involved with an exciting new and long term project.  Age or gender is not important, but enthusiasm and a willingness to take on the challenges of creating a “new industry” for Northern Cyprus are most important.
